"DMS Auction
Services strives to be the rural industry leader
in customer value through superior knowledge,
speed and accuracy."
Established in 1996, DMS Auction
Services has emerged as Australia's foremost and
trusted rural asset management company. Born from
a need in the bush for an asset remarketing company
that understands the products and market place
in which they sell, DMS originally set up as an
auction-clearing house. Since that time, we have
developed our range of services to include asset
disposal, asset valuation, asset management and
auditing, and our latest offering in the area
of asset risk assessment.
Whilst priding ourselves on our
knowledge and understanding of agricultural equipment,
plant and machinery, we believe it is our understanding
of the rural market place that sets us apart from
our competitors. Successful remarketing and asset
disposal is achieved through the attraction of
the correct buyers for the seller - whether it
be a motor grader, ex Govt Ute or a header, we
are able to market to the rural buyers best fit
to purchase the asset. As the saying goes, "you
don't buy bread from the butcher" and at
DMS Auction Services we believe you don't sell
to the country from the city.
Richard Skellern, founder and
principal of DMS Auction Services believes that
the importance of industry knowledge cannot be
surpassed when remarketing, valuing or assessing
assets. "All our employees have an affinity
with the bush and its people," says Richard,
"and it is this knowledge base and knowing
what a particular machine does and how it works
that sets us apart. Our customers can request
a valuation or appraisal on a specific machine
confident with the knowledge that DMS Auction
Services will know what to look for and how to
best market the asset."
All areas of the rural industry
have been under pressure in the past few years
which has seen rationalisation of business, new
players into the market and a cultural change
to one of risk management. DMS Auction Services
has too become involved in services outside the
traditional auctioneering of assets by forging
relationships with the country's largest machinery
suppliers and financiers to help manage this risk
and provide a link between the urban office and
their rural customers.
